Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is the foundation of the massage therapy offered at Massage Group Lake Stevens. It is designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. The benefits of Swedish massage go beyond relaxation; it can help increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility. If you prefer light to moderate pressure, Swedish Relaxation Massage might be ideal for you.
Deep Tissue Massage
If you prefer moderate to firm pressure, deep tissue massage may be included in your massage session. Deep tissue massage consists of slow, firm pressure to release muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). This may improve circulation, reduce minor aches and pain, increase range of motion, and ease inflammation. If you’re looking to rehab an old injury or are dealing with minor aches and pains, deep tissue massage might be ideal for you.
Myofascial Release Therapy
Myofascial release therapy is useful for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles and improving blood, oxygen, and lymphatic circulation. Fascia is a thin, tough, elastic type of connective tissue that wraps most structures within the human body, including muscle. Restrictions in fascia can cause long term postural issues resulting in aches, pains and imbalances in your body. Myofascial release therapy consists of sustained pressure to detect and release fascial restrictions.
Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is a tight area within your muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of your body as well. They might show up as sharp, intense spasms, or as a dull generalized ache. Deep breathing paired with alternating cycles of pressure and release will ease the constricted muscles. You may experience a significant decrease in minor aches and pain after just one massage session, but ongoing sessions may be needed for complete relief.
Seated Chair Massage
A comfortable, affordable massage while fully clothed. Ideal for a busy person on the go, or after a workout.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy incorporates the power of water into the massage. Heated towels are used to increase relaxation, blood flow and reduce muscle tension.
Hot Stones
Hot stones can be used to help ease tense muscles. Hot stones provide deep muscle relief without the need for firm or deep pressure.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping helps to release the fascia and decrease the muscle tightness. With dynamic cupping, the cup is moved with suction (negative pressure) along the area being treated. With stationary cupping, the cup is placed on an area for a few minutes. Afterwards you may notice that your muscles are less tight and you may have more mobility. You may walk away with circular red marks on your skin that may take a few days to disappear.
Pregnancy Massage
A relaxing massage for mom-to-be, utilizing special cushions and/or pillows for comfortable positioning and decreased pressure. Prenatal massage may improve circulation, help relieve anxiety, and help relieve achy back and neck for improved sleep.
